The Captain Mouse
A mouse was walking along the river when he found a blue pencil- box .
He had never been to school. So he didn’t know what a pencil box was.
Two pencils and an eraser were in it.
He put the box on the water and was surprised to see it floating .
He was very happy and said I know this is a small boat .A small boat with special shape .The two colored wood sticks must be the oars .
But who lost the lovely boat by the river ?
Then he found there was a picture of a mouse on the box, the mouse was wearing a suit .
He felt so excited and cried out .
Oh , it’s from our rats’ family.
Look , there is a photo of my father .
And he climbed into the box happily, then he began to row with the two pencils .
Now there is a sweet-smelling cake too.
He took the eraser and bit a small piece
My godness, it tastes strange .
He cried and then he spat it out quickly .
After a while the mouse felt that it was boring
Why not ferry here？He said to himself and he began to ferry with the boat.
A swarm of ants were moving to the other side of the river .
Now they could take the mouse’s boat .
So he got in the pencil –box boat happily.
And everybody bowed to the mouse .
Thank you captain mouse .Thank you very much
The mouse was happy too
He tried his best to row singing at the same time
Just then came a boy on the bank .
He stood near the river and cried : “hello ,little mouse ,give me my pencil-box ,you naughty mouse .”
The little mouse was unhappy to hear this
But who is naughty ?I ’m working now .I’m taking the ants’ family across the river
The little boy looked carefully and found the passengers in the box too.
It ’s so funny .He smiled
After a few seconds he went quickly home taking with him an orange sailboat and returned.
He showed the sailboat to the mouse and said this is for you. That’s a pencil-box and I need it at school .
The little mouse felt a little bit ashamed and said :“sorry ,I didn’t know it’s a pencil-box .Ok， I’ll give it back to you 。and this is the bad cake which I ‘ve bitten a piece.”
The boy looked at his tooth marks on the eraser .
He laughed .
Then he shook his hand and said goodbye to the mouse .
Now the mouse was driving the sailboat and said proudly:“now I’m a real captain.”
