The ten red ants were walking in the yard; the ten black ants were walking there too. Both the red ants and the black ants found something nice to eat.
It was going to rain. So they had to carry the food home quickly.
The ten black ants line up and began to carry things. The red ants had a line as long as the black ant’s.
Then it was blowing. The black ants got worried. They divided into their food into two pats and made two lines. Each line had 5 ants. They went on carrying the food.
But look at the red ants: they are still in one line! The black ants shouted, “Look, our line is shorter, we’re walking faster than you!”
Yes, the red line is longer, the black one is shorter. The cloud became heavier and heavier.
The black ants stopped to divide the food and lines again. This time they made two ants a line, so there were five lines. And they carried the food and went on. The black ants caught up the red ants. They cried out, “Look, our line is shorter than yours, we can walk faster than you!”
Then it began to rain. The ten black ants got so worried again. And again they stopped. They divided the food into ten parts. The ants stood in a row, each ant made a line. After that they went on walking. But the red ants were still in one line. And they have gone far before they black ants. The black ants cried again, “Look, our lines are much shorter than yours, we can walk faster than you!” And they ran after the red ants.
At that moment, it began to rain cats and dogs. The black ants were all caught in the rain and their delicious food was washed away. What about the red ants? Oh, they were OK! They got home with the food right before the rain and they had a nice dinner at night.
